Hokkaido/Japan: Business tycoon and the co-owner of IPL team 'Kings-XI-Punjab', Ness Wadia has been sentenced to 2-years jail term in Japan after he was caught with drugs earlier in March this year, as per sources.

Ness, who is the eldest son of one of the wealthiest businessmen of India, Nusli Wadia and heir to the 283-year-old Wadia group, was caught carrying 25 grams of cannabis resin in New Chitose Airport in the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, according to a report.

"Mr Wadia spent a period in detention before his indictment on March 20 and an undisclosed period of detention before a court hearing. The Sapporo District Court handed him a two-year prison sentence, which was suspended for five years," the report claimed.

The report further claimed that Mr. Wadia has ever since left Japan and has returned to India.
