Monsoon 2021: Heavy Rain in Mumbai, Roads waterlogged in Sion, Palghar area

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and torrential rains at some places in Mumbai and its surrounding areas in the next 24 hours.

Mumbai: Due to the rain that started in Mumbai on Thursday night, the roads of Wadala, Sion and Gandhi Market have been flooded. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and torrential rains at some places in Mumbai and its surrounding areas in the next 24 hours.

In such a situation, the situation in Mumbai may get worse.

Heavy Rain in Mumbai:

Heavy rains have been lashing Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palghar and adjoining areas for the last three hours, due to which roads have been flooded. Buses have been diverted and local trains are getting delayed due to waterlogging on the road.

Along with the Eastern Express Highway, now the Western Express Highway is also heavily jammed. Due to heavy rains, a long jam is also being seen at Dahisar check naka, while according to the Meteorological Department, the troubles of the people will increase further due to the day's rain.

Red alert in Mumbai:

Let us inform that the India Meteorological Department has changed the Orange Alert issued due to rain to Red Alert. Meteorologist R. K. Genmani said that a red alert has been issued in view of the way it is raining in Mumbai and the forecast ahead. It has been raining intermittently in Mumbai since Tuesday, due to which many areas have been flooded.

CPRO of Central Railway has said that trains are running late by 20-25 minutes due to heavy rain and waterlogging near Kurla-Vidyavihar. Slow line traffic b/w Kurla-Vidyavihar has been diverted to fast line. Harbor line is also running late by 20-25 minutes. Trans-harbour line traffic is running smoothly.
