Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Mohan Bhagwat, who addressed the nation on the occasion of Dussehra, here on Saturday, came to Modi government's rescue over the economic policy decisions, when Bharatiya Janata Party's own leaders have started doubting it.

Bhagwat has advised all those criticising the government, over GST, demonetisation and other economic decisions, to come out of their theoretical knowledge and rethink about the problems uniquely.

"Economic advisers will have to come out of old economic 'isms' and present solutions based on ground reality of our nation," stated Bhagwat further saying that all the policies and standard need a rethinking and unique models of development based on the needs of our nation.

He stated further, "To control corruption, the Centre has taken various policy decisions which should be appreciated."

The RSS chief said that an important step to ensure economic progress will be the encouragement by the government to people for adopting entrepreneurial skills and supporting them.

The RSS head, however, also marked that yet there is a requirement for an integrated policy. The policy should address needs of industry, trade, agriculture and environment which will safeguard interests of all.

As the nation will celebrate Vijayadashami today, RSS chief Bhagwat delivered his annual speech on the festival at the Sangh headquarters in the city. Bharatiya Janata Party's veteran leader Lal Krishna Advani was also present in the event.

The RSS chief also performed Shastra Puja during the festivities.

Here are the LIVE updates of what he said:

Bhagwat condoles Mumbai stampede:

"Deeply saddened by incident which occurred yesterday. My condolences to families of those who lost their lives," he said.

Mohan Bhagwat on 'Gau Raksha':

Bhagwat also spoke on the 'Gau Raksha' along with many other political and non-political topics.

Bhagwat, underlining the importance of the cows in the Indian culture said that he knows many Muslims who have sacrificed their lives for protecting Cows.

"I know many Muslims involved in rearing and protection of cows. Many Muslims have sacrificed their life for Gau Raksha, said Bhagwat, who began his speech with a condolence message for the victims of Mumbai stampede that happened on Friday last.

He, however, added that adding that any form of violence, be it for cow protection, is reprehensible.

Saying that cow protection is not just a matter of religion, the RSS chief stated, "Cows are used more for their urine and dung than milk in India. Rearing of the cow is a must for a small farmer to progress and protecting cow and cow-based agriculture is directed by the constitution. Rearing of the cow is not a matter of religion.

He further added, "It is reprehensible that some people have been killed allegedly by Gau Rakshaks. In fact, violence of any form is reprehensible. At the same time, many people have been killed by cow smugglers. We must look at the issue of cow protection beyond religion."

Bhagwat on Rohingyas:

Rohingyas entering Indian boundaries is a matter of concern as links between them and Jihadi elements have come to light. If such elements come to India, they may prove dangerous for our security situation.

We need to ask, why do the Rohingya want to come to India? Why they can not live in the place where they belong to? We need to study their background.

They, along with posing threat to the nation's security, will also put pressure on our jobs and resources.

We had not even completely solved the problem of Bangladeshi intrusion when Myanmar's problems has been heaped on us.

Bhagwat's concept of a 'Rashtra' (Nation):

We have forgotten our history and our heritage and realise that we are great after people from outside teach us about it.

We have given a strong reply to those creating tensions at the borders and have patiently dealt with the situation at Doklam.

Two to three months back things were uncertain but the way separatists were handled, police and army was given full control. The finances of anti-national elements' was cut off and their relations with Pakistan exposed which yielded positive results.

A nation is not made artificially. It is born and brought up on the Sanskriti and people. The concept of 'Rashtra' is unique and entirely different from nation-state concept rooted in power. Our 'Sanskriti' (culture) binds us in common threads.

The Western concept of Indian minds is linked to power and state and we need to decolonise it.

Bhagwat on Terrorism and Kashmir:

The society has to stand together for the sake of a proud nation like it did when Pakistan invaded in 1947. Only then will the country's thinkers be free of views with foreign perspectives.

The determination with which terrorist infiltration and firing from across the border are being dealt with in Jammu and Kashmir is a matter of appreciation but there is a need for partisan, transparent and clean administration in the entire state.

Problems faced by refugees still need to be resolved. They do not have access to basic facilities and are currently leading a backward life.

Problems of permanent residents of the state, who migrated from Pakistan occupied J&K in 1947, are still present along with those who were displaced from the Kashmir valley in 1990. These problems can only be resolved by necessary constitutional amendments and changing the old provisions.

You know situation in Kerala and Bengal. Jihadi forces are active there. Although people are resisting, state governments is not fulfilling its duty. Issue like cross-border smuggling of cow continues to be the matter of concern.

Bhagwat on Development and Economy:

All the policies and standard need a rethinking and unique models of development based on the needs of our nation.

Economic advisers will have to come out of old economic 'isms' and present solutions based on ground reality of our nation.

We should majorly consider the employment and remuneration for every hand along with a sustainable livelihood. An important step to ensure economic progress will be the encouragement by the government to people for adopting entrepreneurial skills and support them.
