Mandi (Himachal Pradesh): In his first visit to Himachal Pradesh after he assumed office two years ago, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday said that people of Himachal have hearts as big as Himalyas. The PM who was addressing the gathering at Bhartiya Janata Party’s Parivartan rally in the Mandi district of HP apologised to the people for being so late in coming to the state. “I thought that Himachal would be angry on me but your love and affection has mesmerised me,” the PM stated.

Modi applauds Indian Army, says Himachal is a 'Veer-Bhumi':

  • Appreciating the Indian Army for the surgical strike the PM said that the world is talking about the bravery of the Indian Army. “We have grown up listening about the bravery of the Israel Army. Now the world knows and talks about the courage of Indian Army who has shown that we are not less than anyone in the world,” the PM said.
  • Stating Himachal as the ‘Veer Bhumi’, PM Modi said that Himachal should feel proud that every second house in the state gives an army officer to the country.
  • Speaking on the one rank one pension the PM said that the Centre has given the state what they deserved. “During my campaigns in the past, I had spoken here about OROP. Today in this ‘Veer Bhumi’, I can say that this right of yours has been given,” he said.
