Modi effect: a large sum recovered from a postal employee house
Dumka: Raids by different agencies to unearth black money are paying dividends. In one such action , as much as Rs 40 lakhs were recovered from house of a lower-level post- office employee here on Sunday. All the currency notes seized were of Rs 100 and Rs ten denominations which are not banned.
More raids may be conducted if he provides some other clues . According to official sources, some other post-office employees may be involved in the note conversion racket.
The sources said the arrested employee has admitted his guilt and confirmed that he had changed banned notes totalling Rs one crores which was brought to the post -office by a businessman. He was paid Rs 40 lakhs for his " service". The information was passed on to the police by a non-official.
A Rajkot report reaching here said that banned notes totalling Rs 1.15 crores were recovered the same day from a car there .These notes were of Rs 1000 and 500 denominations. Three persons have been arrested in this connection.
