Mirzapur: Though very busy in national and international events, but PM Modi has proved that he is there for every Indian in their happiness and sorrow. The recent incident of PM calling a young couple from Mirzapur district and naming their new born daughter has gained limelight and helped the premiere win hearts of many more countrymen.

Vibha, wife of Bharat Singh, the son of a farmer from Nayapura Hansipur village wrote a letter to PM Modi requesting him to christen the new-born.

Bharat Singh, said that he received a call from the Prime Minister who congratulated him and told that his daughter would grow up to their strength one day.

In the conversation Modi said:

  • Hello, main Narendra Modi bol raha hoon. Aapki patni Vibha Singh ka patra mila, aapko badhai, aapke ghar beti ayi hai. Is bachchi ka naamkaran Vaibhavi karein, isme mata evam pita dono ka naam hai (Hello, I’m Narendra Modi. I received the letter from your wife, Vibha Singh. Congratulations on being blessed with a daughter. Name the girl Vaibhavi, as it contains the names of both the mother and father).”
  • The couple said that they were great supporters of Modi and had written to the PM after their baby was born on August 13.
  • The couple stated that their kin had refused to believe that PM himself had called them and thus they requested a PMO official for a letter stating what PM had said on phone. the official had assured that his request would be conveyed and on August 30 last, the couple received the letter from the PM.

The letter read:

  • Aapke ghar beti ka agaman hua hai. Aapko khoob badhai. Vaibhavi ke sapne aap poore karenge aur Vaibhavi aapki Shakti banegi, aisi shubhkamanayein (Congratulations to you on having a daughter. My best wishes, you fulfil the dreams of Vaibhavi, and she will become your strength).

The PM who continuously urges people to respect daughters and has launched a nation-wide campaign, 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' has taken many steps for the development and betterment of girl child.
