New Delhi: The Indian government has given final approval for the purchase of the indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas. This deal is worth 48 thousand crores. Under the deal, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will provide 83 combat aircraft to the Indian Air Force. The big contract will be signed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on February 3 in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Indian Air Force High Commissioners during the Aero India show to be held in Bengaluru.

Significantly, on 13 January, the Cabinet Committee on Security, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the deal for 73 Tejas MK-1A and 10 LCA Tejas MK-1 trainer aircraft. After its arrival, the strength of the Indian Air Force will increase. Let us also tell you here that many other countries had also expressed their desire to buy Tejas from India. The Tejas MK-1A will be equipped with electronically scanned array radars, Beyond Visual Range Missiles, Electronic Warfare Suits and air-carrying capability.

R Madhavan, managing director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, last month said that from March 2024, Tejal fighter aircraft will be started to be supplied to the Indian Air Force. About 16 aircraft will be supplied each year. According to him, the basic price of this aircraft is 25 crores, while 11 crores is for its ground system support and other important things. Apart from this, 7 thousand rupees is inclusive of basic custom duty and GST.
