New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Subramanian Swamy on Thursday landed himself in trouble by supporting Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Swamy, in his tweet, said, “In UP, I think Mayawati will pull off a Donald Trump.”

After facing the blow of Twitterati, BJP Rajya Sabha MP deleted his tweet.

Swamy, in another tweet, clarified, “In my tweet on UP elections I had intended to say Namo (Narendra Modi) Instead by oversight I said Mayavati. Error is regretted.”
