India issues warning to Pakistan on Gandhi Jayanti Day
Speaking at a function in Pauri Garhwal of Uttarakhand on Sunday, Parrikar took a dig at the Pakistani government and said that the nation is behaving like an anaesthetised patient after surgery

New Delhi: Commenting on the ‘surgical strike’ carried out by the Indian Army on Thursday last, the Indian Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar has warned Pakistan that it would get a befitting reply for any cross-border misadventure. The Minister made it clear that many such strikes could happen if the neighbour would try to harm India in Future.
Speaking at a function in Pauri Garhwal of Uttarakhand on Sunday, Parrikar took a dig at the Pakistani government and said that the nation is behaving like an anaesthetised patient after surgery. “Pakistan is in a state of Coma. It has been left shell-shocked by the ‘surgical strikes’ carried out by the Indian Special Forces against terror launchpads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir,” said Parrikar.
What else Parrikar stated:
- The Defence Minister said that Pakistan was trying to deny the surgical strikes because it had been left stunned.
- “The Pak is unable to realise how and when the Indian commandos sneaked into PoK to complete the task,” said the minister.

No intention of capturing any nation:
- Quoting an example from holy book Ramayana, Parrikar said that Indians have never tried to rule any nation forcibly.
- "Lord Rama won Lanka and gave it to Vibhishana. We did the same in the Bangladesh operation. We do not want to harm anyone, but if some harms us, a befitting reply will be given,” said the Defence Minister.

Alert on Borders and nearby areas:
- Though the nation is rejoicing on the success of their operation the armed forces have been asked to stay alert for any retaliation from Pakistan.
- General Dalbir Singh Suhag, on Sunday, visited the two main Army commands on the western front to take stock of the operational preparedness and prevailing security situation.
- "We are maintaining a defensive posture. We have done what we wanted to do through the strikes but Pakistan too have deployed additional battalions along the LoC, said a senior army official.
