New Delhi: In order to stake claim as the Chief Minister of Goa, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday submitted resignation.

Bharatiya Janata Party is claiming of getting support of 22 MLAs in Goa.

BJP needs 21 seats to form government in the state with 40 Assembly constituencies.

Goa Forward Party's Vijay Sardesai said that they have decided to support the saffron party to form government under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar.

Parrikar, along with BJP MLAs, three MGP MLAs, three Goa Forward Party MLAs and three other Independent MLAs , has reached to meet the Governor for staking claim of forming government.
