Agra/Lucknow: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday said that surgical strike has instilled a new sense of confidence among the people of India and it has enhance the reputation of PM Modi much to the dismay of his political distractors.

Speaking at Lucknow's City Montessori School in the presence of BJP state President Keshav Maurya, Parrikar said that only those are demanding proof of strike who were upset over the increasing craze of PM Modi.

He said that public at large believed in what army said about the strike and all arguments should end here.

Stressing that surgical strike have changed the mindset of people, Parrikar said that people were fed up with repeated terrorist attack.

Earlier in the day, Parrikar visited Agra where he heaped praise on the Indian Army for perfect surgical strike and said that those who criticize it were not loyal to the country.

The minister said, “We carried out a perfect surgical strike. Our nation carries the heart and courage to carry this task out.”

The minister who was in Agra to address a rally said that he could go beyond limits when it comes to nation. “I am a sheer patriotic person and when it comes to the matters of Country’s defence, I can think ‘tedha’,” said Parrikar.

What else he said:

  • Manohar Parrikar, while addressing the gathering, said, "Some ex-servicemen wrote to me and said that they are ready to fight on the border if need arises. I salute them."
  • Praising the Indian Army he said that the Country’s Jawans carried out a 100 per cent perfect surgical strike on terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
