Lucknow: A man accused of murder has been shot dead inside a courtroom in Uttar Pradesh.

The firing took place inside the courtroom of the chief judicial magistrate in western UP's Bijnor town this afternoon.

Three people have been arrested.

Three miscreants in the murder case, who appeared in the CJM court in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, were attacked by sharp shooters on Tuesday afternoon.

One accused was killed, while two policemen were injured. The police have arrested the three attackers. Force has been put in court.

The incident took place when three sharpshooters showered bullets inside the courtroom at the two accused in a murder case, who were brought there for a hearing from Tihar jail in Delhi, SP Sanjiv Tyagi said.

While one of the accused was gunned down, two policemen were injured, SP said.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate escaped unhurt, the SP said, adding that the attackers were chased and all the three were arrested.
