New Delhi: Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Thursday accused a Modi government’s minister of supporting a sex racket at GB Road locality in the national capital.

“The prostitution racket has been operational for last many years and the daily business of this ‘house of ill fame’ is at least Rs 5 crore. Moreover, it has been running under the patronage of a Union minister and a national party’s prominent leader,” said Maliwal while addressing a press conference in New Delhi.

It may be recalled that Maliwal has been booked by the Anti Corruption Branch (ACH) for alleged irregularities in recruitment of the women’s panel.

What else Maliwal said:

  • I am still trying hard to find out the prime perpetrators behind the sex racket which is thriving just few kilometres from the Parliament House.
  • I was engaged in a probe to reach the real culprits when fake FIRs were filed against me.
  • I am getting messages that the Centre will get me arrested and removed from my post.
  • Girls as young as eight to ten years of age are placed at the brothel and they are often made to sleep with more than 30 persons a night.
