Google dedicates its Doodle to educate voters in India

New Delhi: The search engine giant Google on April 11 dedicated its informative doodle to spread awareness for the Lok Sabha Elections starting from today in the largest democracy of the world.

The colorful doodle comprises an inked finger, which, when clicked on, leads users to a page 'how to vote #India' that explains the voting procedure. The page also contains information which can be increasingly helpful for first-time voters in the country.

Voting for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Counting of votes will be done on May 23.

The first phase of elections on Thursday will see 91 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 18 states and two union territories.

Among the constituencies going for polls in the first phase are — Eight seats in Uttar Pradesh, seven in Maharashtra, six in Bihar, five in Assam, four in Odisha, two each in Jammu and Kashmir and West Bengal and one seat in Chhattisgarh are also going to polls.
