Visakhapatnam: In the midst of the Corona crisis, new trouble came in India. Gas leakage occurred in a Pharma company based in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Due to which 11 people died, around 700 people are hospitalized. According to information, 5000 people became sick from the gas leak. Police, fire brigade and ambulances arrived on the spot and five surrounding villages were sealed in the hurry.

Due to gas leakage, panic spread among people within a radius of 3 km of the plant. Many people are lying unconscious on the road, while many are having trouble breathing. People also complained of eye irritation and skin rashes.

At present, five villages have been evacuated. Hundreds of people are suffering from headache, vomiting and difficulty in breathing, after which people are being admitted to the hospital but the real reason for the gas leakage is not yet known.

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy announced compensation:

-CM Jagan Mohan Reddy himself reached Visakhapatnam to inquire about the incident and then announced compensation.

-The GVMC Commissioner said that a total of 1500 houses have been evacuated from the affected area. KGH is undergoing treatment at Visakhapatnam, while 40 victims are at Apollo Hospital. 3 of them are in critical condition.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the gas leak in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He has spoken to the Home Ministry and NDMA officials. He said that the Prime Minister's Office is monitoring the entire situation and every possible help is being tried. Along with this, PM Modi has wished everyone safety and good health.

He tweeted, "Spoke to officials of MHA and NDMA regarding the situation in Visakhapatnam, which is being monitored closely. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being in Visakhapatnam."

While expressing regret over the incident, Rahul Gandhi has appealed to the Congress workers for help. He tweeted, "I’m shocked to hear about the #VizagGasLeak . I urge our Congress workers & leaders in the area to provide all necessary support & assistance to those affected. My condolences to the families of those who have perished. I pray that those hospitalised make a speedy recovery."

Vice President Naidu has spoken to Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy. He assured that necessary assistance is being given to ensure the safety of the people affected by the Vizag gas leak. He tweeted, "Deeply distressed by the loss of lives due to gas leak from chemical plant of a private company in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. My condolences to bereaved families and wishes for speedy recovery of those taken ill."
