Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said youth of Kashmir has to choose between tourism and terrorism. He said the path of bloodshed since the last 40 years has not helped anyone and will never help anyone.

Prime Minister was here for inaugrating Asia's longest Chenani-Nashri tunnel, which became operational for traffic from today. Congratulating Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari for the project of Asia's longest Chenani-Nashri tunnel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the tunnel will not only reduce the distance between Jammu and Kashmir but will also come as a huge leap towards development in the state.

"This Chenani-Nashri tunnel is environment friendly and will help in the fight against global warming. We will not only build a network of roads, but a network of hearts too," said PM Modi said while addressing a rally at Udhampur here.

"At one hand misguided protesters are pelting stones, on the other hand youth of Kashmir are using the same stones to build infrastructure. Youth of J&K worked very hard in the making of Chenani-Nashri tunnel. I congratulate them for this," he added.

He said the beauty of this land can draw so many people and every Indian wants to see Jammu and Kashmir. Tourism will also bring economic growth, he added.

Heaping praises over PM Modi, Mehbooba Mufti said tunnel will greatly reduce travel time. She also congratulated the Prime Minister for massive victory in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
