PM Modi lays foundation stone of New Parliament Building
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the new building of Parliament House in the capital today.
New Delhi: Today is a historic day for the country. India is going to get its new Parliament House. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the new building of Parliament House in the capital today. Leaders of several political parties, Union ministers and ambassadors of many countries will participate in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new Parliament House and Bhoomi Pujan celebrations.
Till now the Parliament building in which work was being done was made in the era of British.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, foreign Envoys and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also present at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new Parliament building.

Explain that the cost of construction of the proposed four-storey new parliament building will be Rs 971 crore. It is to be built on an area of 64500 square meters. The new Parliament House, being built with modern facilities, will be completed by 2022, when India is marking the 75th anniversary of its independence. At the same time, the construction work of the Parliament House will be completed by the 75th Independence Day of the country.
