Lucknow: South India has been considered a pioneer among the educated states of India. But now your perception is about to change. The latest figures released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) are telling its story.

70.3 percent women are literate:

According to the data, in India, 84.7 percent of the men and 70.3 percent of women are literate. These figures have also revealed that somewhere in India, the mentality of teaching boys appears almost the same in India as compared to girls. Kerala can be considered an exception in this because there is only a difference of two percent in the literacy rate of men and women.

This figure released by the NSO is for the year 2017-18. This includes children from the age of seven years to the elderly. According to the NSO data, in Kerala, men are literate 97.4 percent and women 95.2 percent.

93 PERCENT men are literate in Delhi:

Similarly, in Delhi, men are literate 93.7 percent and women 82.4 percent, in Uttarakhand 94.3 percent and women 80.7 percent, in Himachal Pradesh men are 92.9 percent and women 80.5 percent and in Assam men 90.1 percent and women are 81.2 percent literate.

According to the latest data from the NSO, Kerala remains at number one with 96.2 percent of the five most educated states in the country.

Uttar Pradesh is at 6th place with 73 per cent literacy rate. In Rajasthan there is a huge gap of Urban and Rural literacy rate.
