In the coming time, your children will neither be able to misuse social media without your permission nor will they waste more time than necessary on it. Actually, the central government is preparing to bring such rules, after the implementation of which children will have to take permission from their parents before creating an account on social media. Not only this, users will also have the freedom to withdraw their consent (approval) regarding data. The central government has released the draft of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act to implement these rules. It is being told that the rules mentioned under this draft will be considered after February 18 to make the final rules. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also written a post on Social Media X and sought advice from the people regarding the draft of DPDP rules.

According to this draft, any company will now have to take permission from the government before taking any data related to Indian users out of the country. After the implementation of these new rules, now if any child wants to create a social media account, then he will have to first take permission from his parents for this. It is being told that to implement this rule properly, the establishment of a data protection board is also being considered. Which will work like a digital office. This board will have the power to investigate the breach and theft of data. It is being said that as soon as this rule is implemented, consent managers will have to register with the data protection board.

It is being said that as soon as the government implements these new rules, the tampering with the data will also be known. As soon as it is implemented, the situation will also become clear on the notice received by anyone, registration of consent manager, processing of children's personal data etc.

Under this draft, it has been said that in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections one and two of section 40 of the DPDP Act 2023, the draft of the proposed rules to be made by the Central Government on or after the date of commencement of the Act is published for the information of all the users affected by it.
