Lala Lajpat Rai Birth Anniversary: PM Modi pays tribute to 'Punjab Kesari'
Today is the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. He was born on 28 January 1865 in Monga district of Punjab.

One such hero of India was Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai. Today is the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. He was born on 28 January 1865 in Monga district of Punjab.

On Thursday, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute and remembered his contribution in the freedom struggle. Prime Minister Modi said, "His contribution in the freedom struggle cannot be forgotten and it inspires people of all generations." Born in Punjab in the year 1865, Lala Lajpat Rai also became famous as 'Punjab Kesari'.

Lala Lajpat Rai was also one of the three freedom fighters and social reformers in 'Lal Bal Pal'. Apart from these, there are Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra Pal.
