Save Kulbhushan Jadhav, urges a disappointed martyr Hemraj's family

Agra: ‘We have lost our son and saw that no one cares after sometime, we do not want family of Kulbhushan Jadhav to go through the same’. These were the words of a crying mother whose heart still aches and body starts shivering when she remembers the day her son’s headless dead body was brought back to home.

Disappointed with the behaviour of central and state governments, family of martyred Indian soldier Hemraj has urged the authorities to bring back Kulbushan Jadhav safely to the country.

The family has asked the government to do whatever they could to stop Jadhaw from 'hanging till death' punishment given to him by the Pakistan government.

Living in a ‘kuccha house’ made up of mud and brick, the family, with folded hands and visible tears of wait and dismay, said that it is still waiting for the day when government aids that were promised to them would be reaching their houses. The family also alleges that the leaders who had promised a whole lot of schemes and grants to them did not even come to help during the burial of the soldier, neither the grave is maintained.

It could be reacalled that late Naik Hemraj Singh was martyred at the Line of Control (LOC) in 2013 and the body was taken away by the Pakistan army, The body was later thrown at the Indian border with his head chopped off.

What Hemaraj’s family has to say:

Soldier’s mother: Meena Devi, the unfortunate mother of the brave soldier, stated, “Our son did what the country send soldiers to border for. He gave his life for the nation. Today, people have forgotten him. I do not want this to happen with another son. I urge the government to bring back Jadhav safely and unhurt so that his mother would not be weeping like I do everyday.

She further added that if the behaviour of government does not change for the army-men and their families, no family would send their loved ones to serve the nation.

Hemraj’s younger brother: Jay Singh, younger brother of Hemraj called Pakistan a coward. He said, “Pak chopped off the head of my dead brother, they killed Sarabjeet in jail and now they are trying to kill the innocent Kulbhushan Jadhav. They do not have courage to fight us directly and thus, are trying these cheap tactics to hurt us.

He has urged the PM, “Pressurise Pak until they accept the demand of release Kulbhushan Jadhav. His destiny should be given into the hands of those murderers. Bring him back safely” .

Singh, however, said that the ex-gratia promised by the Centre did not reach us. Now that the Bharatiya Janata party is in Centre we had expected that something would be done in this regard but all we got was disappointment and fake promises.
