Kiren Rijiju urges govt to assure no economic blockade in Manipur

Imphal: Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, on December 22, urged the Manipur government to bring back normalcy in the violence-struck state and make assure that there is no economic blockade which is severely hampering the daily lives of the people.

Rijiju would also visit the state today to examine the situation.

What else Rijiju said?

  • I will talk to the state government and find a solution to the problems which have cause massive problems to the people in the state.

  • It is a constitutional duty of the government to normalise the situation and people. They should make sure that there is no blockade along the highways.

  • People of the state are suffering a lot due to the prices of the essential commodities which have become expensive because of blockade.

The blockade was imposed by by the United Naga Council (UNC) after the Manipur government announced the creation of seven new districts.
