Thiruvananthapuram: A Massive fire broke out at a three-storey textile shop at SM street (Mittayitheruvu) in Kozhikode of Kerala.

Though, no person was injured in the incident.

  • The blaze of fire spread to at least 10 other nearby shops.
  • According to the witnesses, the textile shop situated near Radha theatre completely gutted in the fire.

More than eleven fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The efforts to douse the flames is on.

The officials said that the fire had engulfed due to an explosion of the generator's gas cylinder which was inside the shop.

It may be mentioned that a similar incident had taken place when a massive fire broke out at the godown of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL) in Agra. Though, no causalities were reported. The incident occurred due to short circuit on February 21 last. More than six fire tenders were sent to the godown at spot.
