New Delhi: Voting is going on today for the Kerala Assembly Elections 2021. Polling for 140 seats began at seven in the morning amid tight security arrangements. In this election, everyone's eyes are fixed on the Palakkad assembly seat here.

My entry changed BJP's image: E Sreedharan

From here, BJP's candidate 'Metroman' E Sreedharan is in the election field. Recently Sreedharan joined BJP. After casting his vote, he said that his entry in BJP has changed the image of the party in Kerala.

At a polling station in Ponnani, Sreedharan along with his wife arrived to cast their votes. Talking to CNN News-18, he said, 'I have done my duty. People are voting for the development of the state itself. I felt that the service of my state should continue and that is why I chose BJP.

Kerala Assembly Election:

E Sreedharan is hopeful that the BJP will perform brilliantly this time in Kerala. Talking to media, he said, 'There is no doubt that this time the BJP's performance in Kerala is going to be great. I am going to win the Palakkad assembly seat by a huge margin. The BJP's image in Kerala has changed with my coming to the party.

88-year-old Sreedharan had said a few days ago that the BJP may offer him to become the Chief Minister in the state. He also said that people ask him again and again why he stayed away from politics while working for a government job for 67 years. He further said, 'I am full of passion now. I want to serve the state. Whatever responsibility will be given to me, I will try to fulfill it.

957 candidates are in the fray including state Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, seven of his cabinet colleagues, Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala and senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy. About 2.74 crore voters will decide the fate of the candidates.
