New Delhi: Snowfall in the higher peaks of Himachal Pradesh in April has made the weather pleasant in the entire state. The strategically important Manali-Leh route has been closed. Snowfall has started in Lahaul and Manali hills as the weather changes.

Snowfall in Himachal:

Drops of snow are falling in Sarchu including Patseau, Jinjing Bar, Baralacha, Bharatpur City. In view of the changing mood of the weather, the administration has closed for the Atal Tunnel tourists. High-altitude rural areas of the Lahul Valley, including both sides of the Atal Tunnel, are experiencing snowfall, while the high-altitude tourist destinations of Manali are also drenched with snowflakes.

Snowfall in Summer:

The Rohtang Pass, including Baralacha, Kunjam Jot and Shinkula Pass, is experiencing snowfall. The Leh road, which was restored on Sunday due to snowfall in the Baralacha Pass, was blocked again on Monday. The BRO has set a record by restoring this route in March with the help of Atal Tunnel. However, BRO says that once the weather is clear, the movement of vehicles on this route will be smooth. But due to snowfall on Monday, the route has been closed to vehicles. On the other hand, restoration of Shinkula and Kunjum holdings has also been affected.

SDM Manali Raman Gharsangi said that there has been snowfall on both sides of the Atal Tunnel since morning. He said that in view of the weather patterns, the Atal Tunnel has been closed for tourists. The movement of tourist vehicles on the tunnel will depend on the weather.
