J&K: Terrorist Zeenat-ul-Islam along with one other killed in gunfight

Srinagar: Most wanted terrorist Zeenat-ul-Islam and his associate were killed on Sunday in a gunfight with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said.

Sources identified Zeenat-ul-Islam as a resident of Shopian and his associate as Shakeel Ahmad Dar - resident of Chilli Pora village.

Both the slain militants were affiliated with proscribed outfit Al-Badr and were wanted by law for their complicity in a series of crimes including attack on security establishments and civilian atrocities.

It is to be mentioned that Zeenat-ul-Islam is active since 2006. Zeenat-ul-Islam started doing crime when he got affiliated with Al-Badr, who was arrested later.

After he was released, he got affiliated to Hizbul Mujahideen and recently joined Al-Badr outfit in Shopian district. Consequently, he became the chief of the outfit.
