An encounter broke out between the terrorists and security forces in Sangram village of Shopian district. According to the Police, the gunfight has stopped while the4 search operations are still on.

New Delhi: An encounter broke out between the terrorists and security forces in Sangram village of Shopian district.

According to the Police, the gunfight has stopped while the search operations are still on.

The incident took place after security forces launched a search operation after receiving intelligence input about the presence of terrorists in Sangram village.

The Police added, "As the cordon was tightened, the militants fired at the security forces triggering the ongoing gunfight."

The security forces including personnel from the 34 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police cordoned off the area.
