New Delhi: Indian Railways on Friday raised the number of tickets booked on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) portal from six to 12 for Aadhaar-verified users.

The move will encourage passengers to link their Aadhaar numbers to their online booking accounts on IRCTC.

IRCTC said if passengers want to book more than more than six tickets a month then the Aadhaar number of the user and one of the passengers should be updated in the IRCTC portal.
