New Delhi: Taking notice of the prevailing Indo-Pak tension, the Indian Motion Pictures Association (IMPA) on Thursday passed resolution to ban Pakistani artists associated with Bollywood till the circumstances ameliorate.

The move came hours after the Indian Army carried out surgical strike on terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) inflicting heavy casualties.

It may be recalled that prior to this, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had issued threat to Pakistani artists in India giving them ultimatum to leave the country within 48 hours. The threat came after the Uri terror attack in which as many as 18 Indian Army soldiers were killed by Pakistani terrorists who had infiltrated into Jammu and Kashmir.

Furthermore, reports claim that a petition has been filed in Pakistan’s Lahore High Court seeking a ban on the screening of Indian movies in the country till the Kashmir issue gets resolved.
