 IndiGo Pilot Delays Flight After Personal Tragedy

New Delhi: Unveiling a promotional offer, the Budget carrier IndiGo has joined other airlines providing heavy discounts on tickets for travel in 2017. IndiGo has announced selling tickets from as low as Rs 999. The IndiGo offer is open till December 25 and is applicable on travel between January 9, 2017 and April 15, 2017.

IndiGo has yet not disclosed the number of tickets it would be providing under the promotional scheme.

The airlines stated that the 999 offer is applicable on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad route. "Among the other routes, fares on Jaipur-Pune start from Rs 2,317, Delhi-Guwahati Rs 2,417, Delhi-Bengaluru Rs 2,534 and Delhi-Goa Rs 3,116," stated IndiGo.

Other offers by different airlines:

Jet Airways--

  • IndiGo's rival Jet Airways has announced selling tickets from Rs 990.
  • The offer is applicable on travel on or after January 4, 2017 and the tickets must be purchased between December 20, 2016 and December 23, 2016.

AirAsia India--

  • AirAsia India is selling all-inclusive tickets from Rs 917 under its New Year Sale offer.
  • Its offer is open till January 1, 2017 and for this the tickets must be bought to travel between March 1, 2017, and October 31, 2017.

GoAir--

  • Another budget carrier GoAir offered tickets starting from Rs 1,057 for selected sectors.
  • The fares are applicable till December 31. The Rs 1,057 fare is applicable on the Delhi-Jaipur route. Delhi-Leh fares, under the GoAir offer, start from Rs 2,889.

According to aviation regulator DGCA, the number of passengers carried by domestic airlines during January to October this year has surged due to the offers. "The number has jumped 23 per cent to 813.70 lakh," the regulator released in a statement.
