New Delhi: There is a good news about the Corona vaccine in India. The Russian Corona vaccine Sputnik-V trial in India was rejected recently. Subsequently, Indian drug manufacturer Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (DRL) has again submitted a revised application to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), which is the second and third phase of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V in India. Is seeking approval from a government official to conduct a clinical trial.

Trial of Sputnik V in India:

DCGI's expert panel recommended that Dr. Reddy's Lab submit a fresh amended application to approve the vaccine trial. Last week, the Expert Committee (SEC) made an in-depth evaluation of the previous application submitted by Dr. Reddy Lab. Subsequently, the SEC directed the pharma company to apply with the revised protocol with more information.

Dr. Reddy's Lab has joined hands with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) for clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine as well as its distribution. The official said the drug regulator would conduct a technical evaluation of the application submitted by Dr. Reddy's Lab for the second and third phase clinical trials of the Russian Corona vaccine in India.

Last month, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitry reported that Russia was in talks with the Indian government and pharmaceutical companies regarding localization of production of its Sputnik V vaccine in India.

On 11 August, Sputnik V vaccine was developed jointly by RDIF and Gamalaya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology which was registered by Russia's Ministry of Health and became the world's first registered vaccine against COVID-19.
