Incredible India | UNESCO organises Intl Vedic camp in Allahabad

Allahabad: Indian culture has always attracted admirers from all over the world and in the lines of the same some of the foreign dignities and yoga enthusiast have marked their presence in the inauguration of 'International Vedic Education Camp', organised in the Uttar Pradesh state of the country.

Titled as Uthista, this is the first camp in India where Vedic scholars including a UNESCO member Alexander Usanin have assembled to preach vedic knowledge and its relevance in contemporary civilization.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma also attended the special event that was organised, at Shiv Ganga Vidya Mandir School in Phaphamau here, to dig out more of the Vedas.

The Deputy CM of UP stated, “India's Vedic culture teaches us humanity.”

"Nowadays, people at the age of 20 suffer from diabetes. Earlier, saints lived for more than 100 years. Tulsidas started writing holy book at 75 and lived upto 135 years. The only factor behind the same was vedic culture."

ISCKON Nepal Executive Secretary Rupail Joshi, Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi and Professor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi also spoke on the occassion.

Russian Vedic Scholar Oblonokov Igor said vedas are the ancient writings written by God. "UNESCO is making every effort to preserve it," he added.

The camp was co-ordinated by Allahabad University Professor Sheo Sagar Ojha.

The camp was organised to bring awareness among the people about eternal values of Vedic Knowledge.
