IMD issues Heavy Rain Alert in South and snowfall in North India

NEW DELHI: Cyclone storms swept across the southern parts of India, although in the meantime there was rain in the coastal areas and according to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of heavy rains at present. At the same time, cold is increasing in the northern part of the country due to low temperature.

In such a situation, snowfall will start in these areas. The cold is also increasing in many areas of the country.

Rain in areas of South India

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there are chances of heavy rainfall in some areas in India. In Tamil Nadu it is raining for several days, due to which 7 people died here. Apart from this, 75 huts and eight other houses have been completely destroyed due to continuous rains. A total of 1725 slums and 410 houses have suffered partial damage. Many trees and electric poles have been uprooted.

At the same time, the chances of rain have not reduced. It is said that apart from Tamil Nadu, there may be thunderstorms in many parts of Puducherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Snowfall in the northern areas, cold will increase

The Meteorological Department said that along with some rains in the southern states on Monday, there may be snowfall in the high places of North India. Snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and several parts of Ladakh on Monday. After the end of the Western Disturbance, the icy wind from the snow-covered Western Himalayan regions towards the plains will cause a drop in temperature.

According to the India weather, winter has been delayed in Maharashtra due to cyclones and areas of severe pressure in the Bay of Bengal. The official said that along with the weakening of the areas of severe pressure, the minimum temperature has been recorded in many areas of the state. Winter season can now begin in Maharashtra.
