All Identified persons killed in Mathura violence cremated

Lucknow: The mastermind behind Mathura violence Ram Briksha Yadav was cremated on Monday, nearly 36 hours after his identification. The last-rite was delayed because none of his family members came to take his body home for the cremation.

In addition to him, eleven other identified persons were cremated by the police. As many as 24 persons including two police officers were killed in the violence which had taken place on June 2.

The state government which had asked divisional commissioner chandrakant to inquire into the incident will submit his report within a fortnight. He has already visited the spot and talked to different sections of the people. He has urged all those who had some knowledge of the developments leading to the killing to meet him and share the information with him.

In the meantime, Union home minister Rajnath Singh, has said that the Centre would hold a CBI inquiry into it if the state government favoured. In his personal opinion such an inquiry was needed as contradictory versions have been given and charges have been leveled against some ruling party leaders in this connection.
