ICMR says, Indian Corona Vaccine is effective against New Corona Strain
ICMR Director-General Dr Balaram Bhargava has said that the interim results of ongoing clinical trials in the country indicated that indigenous covid-19 vaccines would also be effective in new strains.
New Delhi: Since the discovery of new strains of Corona found in Britain, South Africa and Brazil, new cases of Corona have also started coming up in India. Everyone is afraid that the Corona New Strain is not showing its effect on India either.
ICMR on New Corona Strain:
In the midst of all this, the Indian Council of Medical Research has given relief news related to the new strain of Corona. ICMR Director-General Dr Balaram Bhargava has said that the interim results of ongoing clinical trials in the country indicated that indigenous covid-19 vaccines would also be effective in new strains of the corona virus encountered in Britain, South Africa and Brazil.

Bhargava, while addressing an international webinar 'Kerala Health. Making the SDGs a Reality' organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Kerala. He said that a paper on the potential of covaxin against the new type of Covid-19. That came out in Britain accepted for publication.
He said that in the case of types in South Africa and Brazil. Efforts made to isolate the mutated virus from the samples collected from travelers from these two countries.
The official said that the third clinical trial of Covaxin BB 152 completed. As both doses provided to all 25,800 volunteers involved in this exercise. He said, "Interim analysis report should come in a week." Dr. Bhargava informed that India has used this period to increase the capacity of both government and private medical infrastructure against the covid-19 outbreak in response to keeping the spread of the pandemic under control.
