New Delhi: Income tax department, on Monday, sent a notice to the Country's biggest opposition party, Congress, over Rs 170 Crore alleged black money donations, as per sources.

According to I-T department Sources, a Hyderabad based infrastructure firm has allegedly given the party over Rs. 170 crores through Hawala transactions. Congress, however, failed to furnish the papers of the mentioned transactions which the company claims to be done between the two. Congress hasn't responded to the notice yet.

It is to be mentioned that Congress was also summoned in this regard by I-T department on November 4, but none of the leaders have responded to the summons as per now.

The 170 crore black money donation case came into light when I-T department raided a Hyderabad based infrastructure firm last month. After which the department flung into action.

As per sources this fund was kept aside for government project and fake receipts were prepared. In an investigation it was revealed that these fake bills were connected with a government project which was related to a government scheme for economic weaker section.

The company is said to be worth Rs. 3000 Crores and I-T department is further investigating for the other alleged beneficiaries of the company.
