Huma Qureshi comes out in an open support to Umar Khalid

New Delhi: After a viral post of JNU alumnus Swara Bhaskar about the whole issue, another Bollywood celebrity Huma Qureshi has also come out in an open support to Umar Khalid saying media is witch hunting in the issue and levelling undue allegations.

Huma, also a JNU alumnus, said Umar was his junior and was being targeted unnecessarily. Five students of Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) ,accused of raising anti-national slogans, returned on Sunday evening to campus and addressed the University students outside the administration block.

Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi shared the video of Umar’s speech on twitter- “Umar Khalid was my junior in school..been following his witch hunt closely https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=G9K8ZM_6Tc4 … India hear what this student has to say.”

Saqib Saleem, an actor and brother of Huma Qureshi, were schoolmates of Umar Khalid studied. He also took to twitter and wrote “My batch mate Umar Khalid is a terrorist ?? Pls watch this video n decide for yourself ..https://m.youtube.com/watchfeature=youtu.be&v=G9K8ZM_6Tc4 … favoured.”

• In his speech Umar Khalid addressed the JNU students and said “I am Umar Khalid and I’m not a terrorist.”
• He also condemned the media trial that branded him a terrorist.
