Chandigarh: Honeypreet Insan, the adopted daughter of rape convict Gurmeet Singh, has confessed to inciting violence in Panchkula.

According to the reports, Honeypreet, who is in the custody of Haryana Police, has to be in police remand till October 13.

Honeypreet's police remand was extended by three days till October 13 by a court on Tuesday. It is to be mentioned that the police had sought a nine day remand for Honeypreet but the court, after hearing the arguments, sent her to a three-day police custody.

Honeypreet was earlier remanded to six days in police custody as she figured at the top of the list of 43 suspects wanted by the Haryana Police for their involvement in the Panchkula violence.

Honeypreet’s real name is Priyanka Taneja.

Recalling that the violence that erupted on August 25 claimed 41 lives in Panchkula and Sirsa, Haryana Police had filed an FIR against Honeypreet, along with other top Dera functionaries Aditya Insan and Surinder Dhiman, accusing them of sedition and arson.
