HM Rajnath Singh holds meeting to take stock of Amarnath attack

New Delhi: While the Jammu and Kashmir police is blaming terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba for killing seven Amarnath pilgrims in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, the attack has shaken the Indian government, leaving them in more worry about the security of the nationals.

While the top guns from the government and opposition united to strongly condemn the attack on the pilgrims, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has discussed the further strategy to continue the ‘Yatra’, preventing any such attacks, in a high-level meeting on Tuesday.

NSA Ajit Doval is also supposed to brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the current status of Anantnag terror attack in few hours.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has also called the cabinet meeting today, in the wake of the terror attack. She had also visited the injured at the Anantnag hospital on Monday last. Condemning the attack Mufti said that the state government will leave no stone unturned to arrest and punish those involved in the act.

Further, the Indian Centre has asked three empty buses of the State Roads Transport Corporation to accompany the yatra convoy to ensure that no single pilgrim gets stranded enroute on account of breakdown of the vehicle.

To avoid any delay only a brief halt at Udhampur, Ramban and Banihal has been allowed with proper security arrangements.
