Himachal HC asks Centre to enact law prohibiting Cow slaughter
Shimla: The Himachal High Court asked the Centre to enact necessary laws within six months to prohibit cow slaughter and import, export or sale of beef or beef products.
The court on Friday also directed the Himachal Pradesh chief secretary to ensure release of sufficient funds for the construction of cow shelters.
The bench further directed the chief secretary to ensure that the State Agriculture Commission is constituted, notified and made functional within a period of three months .
The bench set a time-limit this time because its previous directive issued on October 14, last has gone unnoticed .
