Mumbai: Severe rains continue to wreak havoc in Mumbai. The Meteorological Department had already issued an alert on 4 and 5 July. The department had spoken of heavy rains in Mumbai and nearby areas. Also, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Raigad and Ratnagiri.

High alert in Palghar, Thane:

In view of the conditions, the Meteorological Department said that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in Mumbai, Palghar, Thane and Raigad districts on Saturday. Official advised people to be safe during this time.

BMC issued high tide alert in Mumbai:

Along with this, due to the alert about high tide in Mumbai, high waves have started to rise in the sea. Giving information that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had issued a high tide alert in Mumbai, given the possibility of heavy rains.

According to the information received, there was a possibility of up to 4.57 meters high waves in the sea at around 11.30 am on Saturday. People have been advised by BMC not to go to the sea shore.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extremely heavy rainfall. In the next 24 hours in Mumbai, Ratnagiri and Raigad under high alert.

Also, the Meteorological Department says that there may be torrential rains at many places in Palghar, Mumbai, Thane and Raigad on Saturday. Extremely heavy rainfall is expected at some places.

Traffic has been badly affected in most areas of Konkan in Maharashtra. Also traffic in Mumbai due to heavy rains since Friday morning. Mumbai and nearby area as well as Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts are still receiving heavy rains.
