New Delhi: Corona cases are continuously increasing in India. More than 2 lakh new cases have been reported during the last 24 hours. At the same time, more than one thousand people have died.

Oxygen arrangement in Hospitals:

Meanwhile, there is a shortage of oxygen in hospitals in many states of the country. The Center on Thursday asked the states to use oxygen better and ensure that there is no wastage even if there is sufficient stock of oxygen in the country. Medical oxygen plays an important role in the treatment of COVID-19 affected patients.

What Health Minister says?

The Union Health Ministry said that an Inter-Ministerial Empowered Group of Officers (EG2) was formed during the COVID pandemic in March 2020 to ensure the availability of essential medical devices, including medical oxygen, to the affected states.

The ministry stated that with ramped production of oxygen manufacturing units and surplus stock available, the current availability of oxygen is sufficient.

It is stated that the daily mapping of sources for the supply of medical oxygen to the affected states is under preparation to ensure uninterrupted oxygen supply.

Oxygen shortage in Madhya Pradesh:

More than 100 hospitals in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal are suffering from lack of oxygen. Most hospitals have stopped hiring new patients.

In March, Bhopal consumed 30 metric tons of oxygen every day, which has increased to 60 metric tons. In many hospitals, forms are being filed with the relatives of new patients.

Maharashtra:

Many hospitals in Maharashtra, which are experiencing the highest number of corona cases, are suffering from lack of oxygen. According to media reports, seven patients died due to lack of oxygen in the Nalasopara area adjoining Mumbai.

Chhattisgarh Corona Situation:

Some hospitals in Chhattisgarh, one of the states most affected by Corona, have reported lack of oxygen beds. Here 4 people are said to have died due to lack of oxygen.
