Gurgaon: Home buyers and flat owners in Gurgaon will join a demonstration against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on Saturday as part of a nationwide protest against Rahul for allegedly obstructing the passage of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill in Parliament.

Last year, Rahul had joined protests in favour of the bill and promised to lend his support. But, the flat owners allege the NDA government wants to pass the bill but the Opposition, including the Congress, is creating hurdles.

A spokesman of the house owners said that in absence of a law, they had become victims of developers and property agents.

The protesters comprising homebuyers, RWA representatives and consumer associations from all over the country will assemble at Jantar Mantar at 10:45 am on March 5 and proceed towards Akbar Road (Congress headquarters).

The organisers said 66 resident welfare associations (RWAs) registered with Federation of Apartment Owners Association (FAOA), an association of flat owners that is spearheading the campaign for the bill, are expected to be part of the protest.
