Gujarat: Dawood Ibrahim gang's sharp shooter, 3 others arrested
Rajkot: Gujarat Police on Saturday arrested a sharpshooter and three other members of the Dawood Ibrahim gang here, when they were on their way to assassin a Jamnagar-based businessman.
The police informed that the shooter has been identified as Ramdas Rahane, who was paid Rs 10 lakh by Dawood's brother Anees for eliminating the businessman.
According to Rajkot city DSP SR Odedara, Rahane, along with his three accomplices, was travelling to Rajkot in a private bus to kill the businessman.
The businessman is the owner of a construction company in Jamnagar.
The police found those four men in suspicious condition while searching the bus. On checking their luggage, they recovered a pistol, six live cartridges, two knives and fake number plates.
The police personnel have claimed that Ramdas is believed to have been involved in several shooting incidents in Mumbai. His name had also cropped up in a shooting incident at builder Manish Dholakiya's office in 2011 in which a guard had lost his life.
