The announcement was made public through Gujarat CM's official twitter account:

"Happy to state that the Government Of Gujarat has decided to implement 10% EWS reservation benefits from 14th January, 2019. It will be implemented in all ongoing recruitment process too wherein there is only Advertisement published but first stage of examination is yet to held."

A government circular is yet to be issued, though, as no official announcement from the state government of the same has been made yet.

Later, Gujarat Public Service Commission chairman Dinesh Dasa tweeted saying it would postpone state civil service exams, slated for January 20.

The 10% quota will be implemented in all recruitments where advertisements have been published but the first stage of exam is yet to be held, Rupani tweeted.

Later, a government statement said the ongoing process would be suspended and a fresh course would begin after incorporating the 10% additional quota.

However, the 10% quota would not be applicable in those cases where the process of recruitment - like oral, written, computer proficiency or preliminary tests - had begun before January 14, 2019.
