Government allows withdrawal of Rs 2.5 lakhs from banks for weddings

The Government on Thursday announced that families can withdraw up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs from banks if they have wedding in their house.

New Delhi: The Government on Thursday announced that families can withdraw up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs from banks if they have wedding in their house. " One member of the family, be it father or mother can withdraw upto Rs 2.5 lakhs for a wedding", said Economic Affairs Secretary,Shaktikanta Das. He further stated, the amount could be withdrawn from the bank account which are KYC Complaints.

Farmers can withdraw Rs 25,000 per week:

  • While addressing media, the DEA Secretary said," The government has decided that farmers can withdraw rs 25,000 per week from accounts where they receive either by check or which is credited by Real Time Gross Settlements (RTGS) accounts.
  • "The time limit in crop insurance premium cases will be extended by 15 days as decided by the government", said Das.

Other orders passed by the centre:

  • Exchange of old currency rolled back to Rs 2000 from Rs 4500. This would come into existence from Friday.
  • Das said," Meeting held by Task Force formed a road map to re-calibrate all ATMs that will be surely done soon."
