A 20-year-old girl burnt alive in Jodhpur, the reason will shock you . . .

Jodhpur: In her attempt to save trees from being cut, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly burnt alive in the Pipda village in Jodhpur.

The incident took place around 100 kilometers from Jodhpur, when a girl named Lalita, condemned cutting of trees in her farm.

The incident:

  • The girl tried to save the trees of her farm which were being cut by the villagers for the construction of a road.
  • A group of villagers including the sarpanch poured petrol and set her on fire.
  • She was immediately taken to the hospital where she succumbed to her burn injuries.

Expressing his sadness towards this shocking incident, Lalita's brother Vidhyasagar stated, "The dispute was over the constructing of a road. My sister was opposing to cut trees. The villagers poured petrol and set her on fire."

The protesters have demanded the arrests of the accused within 24 hours.

The senior police officer Suresh Chaudhary said, "Revenue official Om Prakash Singh and Sarpanch Ranveer Singh were among the accused who set the girl on fire."

What else Suresh Chaudhary said?

  • The sarpanch and few more people poured petrol on the victim.
  • The body has been kept in mortuary.
  • We are investigating the matter.
  • After a fair probe we will arrest the accused.
  • Guilty will not be spared.
