Fugitive Businessman Vijay Mallya has suffered a major setback from the British High Court. The court has rejected his appeal filed against his extradition case in India.

London: Fugitive Businessman Vijay Mallya has suffered a major setback from the British High Court. The court has rejected his appeal filed against his extradition case in India. Vijay Mallya is a most wanted accused in nine thousand crore rupees fraud and money laundering cases.

Vijaya Mallaya is 64 year old and ran away from India after doing such a big crime. He is former owner of Royal Challegers Banglore cricket team.

He is also the former Kingfisher Airlines chief. He had filed the said petition in the High Court of England and Wales against his extradition to India in February this year.

"We consider that while the scope of the prima facie case found by the SDJ [Senior District Judge] is in some respects wider than that alleged by the Respondent in India [Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED)], there is a prima facie case which, in seven important respects, coincides with the allegations in India," the judges ruled.

Last month in a conversation with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam, Vijay Mallaya said that he would return all the money soon. He also alleged that ED and Banks are not co-operating with him.
