Raipur: In another train accident on Sunday, at least 14 coaches of a freight train derailed between Silyari and Mandhar railway stations in Raipur. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident but it led to the disruption of rail traffic on the Howrah-Mumbai route.

According to the spokesperson of Raipur Rail division, "The 14 wagons of the freight train carrying ash-like substance and travelling towards Raipur from Bilaspur derailed between Silyari and Mandhar railway stations, around 22 kms away from here, in the wee hours on Sunday."

According to the officials, "The incident affected the movement of trains on the middle line and up line (Howrah-Mumbai) route, as a result of which over half a dozen trains were cancelled. Although down line is being used for the movement of the trains."

Senior Raipur Rail division officers were rushed to the site and have begun restoration operations.

It may be mentioned that major train accident occurred on Saturday midnight at Pukhraya near 100 kms away from Kanpur, leaving behind at least 100 people dead and over 200 injured.
