Former Vishva Hindu Parishad President Vishnu Hari Dalmia passes-away

Dalmia was admitted to Apollo Hospital after his health deteriorated due to age-related issues. He was brought back to his residence on January 13 from the hospital, according to a source.

Former Vishva Hindu Parishad President Vishnu Hari Dalmia dead

New Delhi: Ex-Vishwa Hindu Parishad chief Vishnu Hari Dalmia, one of the three major proponent of the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation, passed-away here at his residence, on Wednesday.

The 91-years-old renowned industrialist, Dalmia took his last breath at 9.38 a.m. at his Golf Links residence.

"Vishnu Hari Dalmiaji peacefully moved on to his heavenly abode today morning. His cremation will be held in the evening at at Nigambodh Ghat," the VHP said in a statement.

He was the trustee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas and member of VHP's Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal. He was a scion of Dalmia Group of industries and the eldest son of Jaidayal Dalmia.

Dalmia, with veteran VHP leaders Ashok Singhal and Giriraj Kishore, played a key role in the Ram Janmbhoomi movement.
